- CF Compatible – Compact Flash
- Capacity – size matters!
- Cache
- RPM – Revolutions Per Minute
- Average Latency
- Physical Spec./Form Factor – Form factor generally comes in three flavors: 3.5″, 2.5″ and 1″ (more detail on this in next episode)

RAID configurations – RAID stands for Redundant Array of Independent Disks
- RAID 0 – “Striping”
- RAID 1 – “Mirrored”
